Mini Libraries

At Bokod Strong, we believe that every child deserves access to books that inspire, educate, and open doors to new opportunities. Unfortunately, many schools in Bokod, Benguet lack sufficient reading materials, limiting students’ ability to develop strong literacy skills. To address this, we have launched our Mini Libraries Initiative, a project dedicated to bringing books closer to the students who need them most.

How We Do It

📍 Identifying Locations in Need – We work closely with schools and communities to determine which areas have the greatest need for reading resources. Schools with minimal book collections, limited library space, or students struggling with literacy are prioritized.

🏗️ Building Mini Libraries – Once a location is selected, we create a dedicated reading space by setting up a small but functional library. Whether it’s a new bookshelf in a classroom, a reading corner in a school, or a stand-alone mini library in the community, we tailor the setup to fit the needs of the students.

📚 Providing Books & Resources – We carefully curate and supply books that are age-appropriate, engaging, and educational. These include storybooks, textbooks, reference materials, and interactive reading resources designed to spark curiosity and encourage regular reading habits.

Why Mini Libraries Matter

  • They promote a culture of reading by making books easily accessible.
  • They enhance literacy and comprehension skills, helping students perform better in school.
  • They serve as a safe and inspiring space for students to explore new ideas and stories.
  • They encourage independent learning, allowing children to develop a lifelong love for reading.

Get Involved

We rely on the generosity of donors and volunteers to expand this initiative. Whether through book donations, financial contributions, or hands-on support in setting up these libraries, your help can make a difference in shaping the future of young learners in Bokod.

Together, let’s build more mini libraries and empower students—one book at a time!
